Lactose Free Recipes: Danish Pancakes

lactose fre recipe Danish pancakes
One of my kids' favorite foods to cook and make is Danish pancakes, and thanks to a few minor changes this Danish pancake recipe easily turns into a lactose free recipe. It is very easy to create lactose free recipes, and I will introduce you to many flavorful recipes here at Lactose Free World, so that you won't have to make any flavor sacrifices.

In the past I have tried making Danish pancakes with both soy milk and rice milk, and while it can be done, the best result for lactose free Danish pancakes definitely comes from using lactose free milk.

The Danish Pancakes Recipe:
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
  •  2 cups of lactose free milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 tbsp of olive oil
  • Lactose free butter replacement such as Smart Balance spread for frying.

  1. Mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Melt a dash of butter on a pan
  3. When the butter is melted, add the Danish pancake batter, and make sure to spread it.
  4. When one side is brown turn it.
  5. Once both sides are brown remove it.

Danish pancakes are extremely easy to make, and they have a similar texture to crepes. My kids prefer these over the regular American pancakes, and they are always a hit. My nine-year-old son can make these Danish pancakes himself, but he has yet to master flipping these pancakes in the air.

There are many ways to serve Danish pancakes, you simply roll your favorite ingredients inside the pancakes, and they are ready to serve.

Ways To Serve Danish Pancakes
  • With "lactose free" ice cream or sorbet
  • With sugar and your favorite jam
  • With Nutella
