Yoplait Lactose Free Yogurt

Finally, a lactose free yogurt in my regular grocery stores! I am very excited about the new Yoplait Lactose Free Yogurt, because while my kids love yogurt, they have only been able to eat 1/4 of a yogurt at a time to prevent discomfort.

With the Yoplait Lactose Free yogurt, my kids can now enjoy an entire yogurt just like the rest of us.

*The coupon offer for Yoplait Lactose Free yogurt is not valid in some states, including Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota and Tennessee.

Lactose Free Recipes: Danish Pancakes

lactose fre recipe Danish pancakes
One of my kids' favorite foods to cook and make is Danish pancakes, and thanks to a few minor changes this Danish pancake recipe easily turns into a lactose free recipe. It is very easy to create lactose free recipes, and I will introduce you to many flavorful recipes here at Lactose Free World, so that you won't have to make any flavor sacrifices.

In the past I have tried making Danish pancakes with both soy milk and rice milk, and while it can be done, the best result for lactose free Danish pancakes definitely comes from using lactose free milk.

The Danish Pancakes Recipe:
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
  •  2 cups of lactose free milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of salt

Smart Balance Milk Publix Sale - $ 1.50 Each After Coupons Starting January 12th

Smart Balance lactose free milk
Tomorrow January 12th, Publix will have the Smart Balance milk on sale at 2 for $5. This is a great time to pick up some cheap Smart Balance Lactose Free Milk, as they usually sell for $3.99 each. Use the Smart Balance milk coupons I told you about a few days ago to get a 64 oz Smart Balance Lactose Free milk for $1.50!

This is a price that does not come around often, so make sure to stock up. Even if you do not have the coupons, $2.50 for lactose free milk is a pretty good deal.

I am going to try to get 8 of these milks, as they usually have a long expiration date. I have never tried to freeze them, because we do not have any room in the freezer, but I have heard that it can be done.

Find the $1 Smart Balance Milk coupons in the 1/8 Smart Source insert.

Our Lactose Intolerance Story

Everyone with lactose intolerance seems to have their very own lactose intolerance story, a story that may include doctor's appointments, specialists, testing, experimenting with a dairy free diet and more. My family's lactose intolerance story includes all of the above and more.

My husband and his mother simply avoided dairy for most of their lives, because dairy intake made them very uncomfortable. My husband has an Indian and African heritage, which means he had great chances of becoming lactose intolerant, but it was not until we had our first son that he realized the reason behind his reaction to dairy products.

Our son had no symptoms for the first 11 months of his life, and we thought we were off to a great start. I did nurse him for a few months, but due to going to school full-time I quickly gave up on nursing, so we moved on to bottle feeding him.

The first time we realized that our son had a problem was when we switched from formula to regular milk at the age of 11 months. We gave him a bottle of regular milk, and watched as his skin developed an instant rash. We tried it again a few days later, and the same thing happened. On top of the rash, he also complained of stomach aches, and he simply did not seem comfortable.

Smart Balance Lactose Free Milk Coupons In The Sunday Newspaper January 8

Smart Balance Lactose Free Milk coupons
If you or anyone in your family is lactose intolerant, I am sure that you know how expensive lactose free milk can be. There are ways to get around the high cost of $8 per gallon though, and one of the ways is using coupons. This Sunday January 8th, there will be Smart Balance coupons in the Sunday newspaper.

I always make sure to get at least 4 newspapers, whenever there are Smart Balance coupons in it.

The best way to maximize your savings is by combining coupons with a sale, and a few weeks ago I was able to get Smart Balance lactose free milk for $1 per 64 oz. Which means $2 per gallon and about half the price of regular milk.

Besides the Smart Balance milk coupons, I also use the Smart Balance spread coupons, as this is the only butter spread I have used since my oldest son was diagnosed with lactose intolerance 8 years ago. Why? Because the Smart Balance buttery spread is lactose free, and it works just as good as butter in my cooking and baking.

Sometimes you can also find Smart Balance coupons online, these coupons usually range from $1.50 to $0.75 off.

If your store carries the Smart Balance brand but not the Smart Balance lactose free milk, ask the manager if it is possible to special order it.

What Is Lactose Intolerance?

I am often asked the question "What is lactose intolerance?", so I figured I would start out with explaining the basics of lactose intolerance.

Lactose intolerance is the body's inability to digest lactose, a natural sugar found in milk and other dairy products, and lactose intolerance occurs when the small intestine does not make enough of the enzyme called lactase.

The body needs lactase to break down lactose, and without it digesting lactose can cause very uncomfortable symptoms. The symptoms of lactose intolerance include gas, nausea, stomach aches, diarrhea and bloating.

The symptoms and the severity of symptoms vary from person to person, and while some people with lactose intolerance are forced to refrain from consuming any dairy products, others can drink small amounts of milks, certain types of milks and consume small amounts of dairy products without symptoms.
